You may have received a refusal letter after you have submitted a temporary resident visa or “TRV” application which is also called a “Visitor’s Visa” for yourself, your family members or friends.
You may not be aware of the fact that one of the refusal reasons might be what in the immigration terminology is used as “Pull Factors.”
Pull factors for Canada could be all or any of the following facts:
- Job opportunities
- Higher qualify of life
- Political and/ or religious freedom
- Education
- Better medical care
- Security
- Family links
- Enjoyment
- Industry
If you have not provided enough supporting document to convince the immigration officer that the applicant will returns to their home country after visiting Canada, you are giving the officer the chance to assume one of the above factors will attract the applicant to remain in Canada permanently.
That decisions on visitor applications are made by an officer based on the evidence that was submitted, and include consideration of whether:
- applicants intend to abide by the period authorized for their temporary stay or to remain in Canada irregularly, make a claim for asylum or otherwise seek to remain in Canada permanently, and not abide by the requirement to leave Canada at the end of the period authorized for their temporary stay, and
- whether the ties to their home country are sufficiently strong to ensure that they are motivated to return home after the visit to Canada.
Remember that by providing adequate documentation and proper submission strategy you can prevent the officer from guessing or speculating about your application.
